Photography has been a hobby of mine for over 30 years. That's when I got my first SLR camera, and I've been taking pictures ever since. In 2004 my photographs ventured into the public domain, as my way of sharing enthusiasm for the beauty around us. The Aberdeenshire countryside has a lot to offer in the way of stunning scenery. Even if the sun doesn't always shine, a dramatic sky or a brewing storm has a beauty all its own. Although born and bred in Aberdeen, I didn't appreciate the area much until I had lived abroad. I came back after twelve years living in Switzerland and Canada, also known for their awe-inspiring landscapes. My love of the natural world has combined with my interest in health, being a physiotherapist by profession. So I love to spend free time walking in beautiful places, camera at the ready.
Painting is something I started again in 2008. Having enjoyed Higher Art at school, I had considered going to Art College, before going off down a completely different road. I have no regrets, I love being a physio, but I'm also excited about rediscovering drawing and painting. I'm still experimenting with it, looking for my comfort zone and style. I have plans to paint more scenery, flora & fauna, as well as celebrations of the amazing human body. Drop in to the website Gallery now & again to see the new photos and paintings as I add them.
