Scottish artist Heather Wood: “Photography has been a hobby since I was 21, when I got my first SLR camera. In 2004 I started exhibiting my photos, and selling cards I made from them. A few years later, I began to paint, using my photos for inspiration. At school I enjoyed Art & had considered going to Art College, but chose to study Physiotherapy instead. I've now retired from that very rewarding profession, & so can spend more than just spare time on my art. Lately I’ve been focusing on portraiture. It was a proud moment when one work was long-listed for the Scottish Portrait Awards 2021. One year later another of my portraits was long-listed. Both portraits are in private ownership, but can be seen here on my website.
